Three Stooges Bar @ Damansara Uptown

12:47 AM

Now here's a tip for you. ;)

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Here's a random question, if you could name your bar after your favourite TV show/movie, what would you name it? Today I would like to share with you my experience of a bar whose name was inspired by an American TV show, 'The 3 Stooges'. Everyone... please meet 'Three Stooges Bistro'!
So how did I know about this bar? Honestly, if my friend did not 'ajak' me for drinks, I probably would have only found out that this bar exists wayyyy later because my friends and I have our usual go-to spots, so we are not very active in bar hunting. But anyways... so my old college mate of 8 years (I think I just revealed how 'old' I am) texted me on a MONDAY night and said "wanna go for drinks?". Then I thought to myself..."Monday night? Cool... let's kill Monday Blues."

So we chatted, caught up, drank, met another old friend Jon and his girlfriend, met some of his friends, talked about his wife (he got married recently, congratulations Eric! :p) and it was a pretty nice night. In fact I have visited Three Stooges a couple of times and so I decide to blog about it to share with you guys. :)

So here's a little 'tour' of the place...

Their seating concept are mostly high chairs and tables... some people may not like high chairs because it's not comfortable but personally for me, theirs are pretty alright. I event sat with my legs up and crossed. But... they have a sofa area too.

The source to happiness.

A fan of live bands? They have live bands every night! In fact they have different live bands daily and you can request for the songs you want. But bear in mind, there is a possibility that they don't know how to sing the song you request for, but... I'm sure you have many favourite songs, so if they don't know how to sing your first song request, choose another favourite from your playlist. :)

One of my favourite song that I requested for was 'Ni Hao Bu Hao' by Eric Zhou. I was told it's a really sad song, but since I don't understand mandarin, I don't feel anything other than enjoying the melody.

A toast to a happiness. :)

Now to the food...I ordered Smoked Salmon, Smoked Duck, Oysters and their Pork Platter. So far in my experience, food at bars are usually just 'so so' and nothing to hype about, so I had no expectations at all.

Here's our starters.

Smoked Salmon and Duck. I was really surprised with these 2 dishes. The Smoked Salmon was pretty nice and 'fresh' and the Smoked Duck's meat was tender, juicy, and delicious.

Smoked Salmon [7.3/10]

Smoked Duck [8/10]

Here are the oysters...yum yum. The sauce and ingredients on top of the oysters really blended well together. It tasted like a mixture of savoury and sour with a hint of spiciness. [7.5/10]

This is one of my favourite and guilty snack to go with alcohol. Curry fish balls! They are so damn good, no joke! This is also one of their snacks best sellers, it is always sold out. So if you want to try this, order or book it in advance. [8.6/10]

Ready for our main dish? ;)

Tadhaaa... here we have the Pork Platter at only RM89. I know... it's huge!
On the Pork Platter there's pork sausages, pork knuckles, pork ribs with fries underneath, mash potato, coleslaw, tomatoes and cucumbers. I think the platter alone can feed about 2 to 4 people, depending how big of an eater you are. For me I'm a small eater, but my 2 guy friends aren't and still we could not finish it possibly due to our starters. I'm not a huge fan of pork, but my guy friends love pork and I didn't mind, and being not a big fan of pork, I would rate this platter [6.8/10].

If you follow me on Instagram, you will see quite a bit of vain pot kind of pictures, and how can I miss the opportunity to snap some OOTDS here right? :p.

So at Three Stooges, there are a few decent places that you can snap OOTD or poser photos and here's mine ;P.

Here are the lovely people of the night, Eric and Wai Keet. All the photos on this blog is shot by the amazing Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Thank you Weekiat for lending your awesome Note 8 for the photos. Super love the Note 8.
Selfie made easy even in dark areas, all thanks to Samsung Note 8 <3.

Like to play pool? Me too! Other than live bands, alcohol and friends... there's also a pool table for your entertainment. Maybe you guys can play a game or two and the loser pays for the drinks.
