The New Fashion Accessory

12:58 AM

I still remember back in the days of high school, I did not like wearing glasses mainly because I looked nerdy. People being people who often stereotype those with glasses are geeks. But now in the modern era, glasses are a fashion statement.
The first day of Chinese New Year I met up with some of my uncles, aunties and cousins and one of my cousin wore a thick frame spectacle. From where I was sitting his spectacle looked like there aren't any lense. He caught me looking at his glasses, so he took it off and poked his finger through the "lenses". Indeed that glasses have become a fashion statement.

Now if you are thinking of changing your glasses, or getting a new trendy looking one, which optic store should you go to? I can't tell you where to go obviously, but I would like to share with you Eyez Optometry Store which is located in Bangsar Village 2, and has another outlet in Mont Kiara (Full address will be provided at the end of this blog post).

On 20th of January, Eyez Optometry relaunched their outlet with more luxury eyewear frames and sunglasses. Eyez Optometry has been the pioneer in statement eye pieces since 2007. Eyez Optometry is the first and only eyewear store that treats every eye wear item as a piece of art, other than vision and correcting aid in Malaysia. The new luxury brands are Andy Wolf, Derek Lam, Face A Face and Philip Lim. Without further due, lets jump into the fashion show and check out the fashionable eye wears.

Andy Wolf
Austrian handcrafted and non-mass produced. These are truly a handmade luxury article. Each pair takes weeks to finish and are hard wearing and long lasting. Well loved by stars like Lady Gaga, Hugh Jackman and Eric Clapton.

To the creators of FaceAFace, each piece of eyewear is a subtle little piece of architecture. FaceAFace frames manipulate pure and contemporary lines, sensual volumes and colours and a refined sense of touch to bring out the beauty of one’s eyes. FaceAFace frames combine the artistic skills of the finest craftsmen with state of the art technology to create the ultimate in handmade optical frames and sunglasses. Celebrities like Annette Bening, Jude Law, Geena Davis, Ellen Barkin, Minnie Driver, Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Noth (Sex in the City) were spotted sporting FaceAFace eyewear.

Derek Lam
More than a decade in the international fashion scene, Derek Lam is a global luxury brand that is synonymous with the promise of uncompromised quality. His touch is especially sophisticated: modern but never cold, fantastical but always rational. He strives to make fashion that is timeless in its elegance. His creations are well received by A-list celebrities like Jessica Alba, Taylor Swift, Liv Tyler, Julianne Moore and many more!

Jason Wu
Mention the name Jason Wu and United States of America’s First Lady, Michelle Obama’s beautiful gown worn at the Inaugural Gala comes to mind. Having dressed such a highly influential woman, is there a doubt that Jason Wu’s eyewear collection, too, is nothing short of fantastic? Jason Wu’s style is a marriage of old world couture and a modern eye.

Philip Lim
Phillip Lim’s style is all about recreating beautiful everyday classics accented with a sense of madness. When you are wearing a Phillip Lim, you can be sure to look refined and elegant while imparting a sense of your individual style, effortlessly.

Eyez do not only have fashionable eye wear for adults, but for the young ones as well (they have a huge collection of kids and teen eyewear, just get them to assist you. :)) Eyez may be a fun optical store but they also offer some serious solution to myopic (short-sighted) kids with the special lenses called Myopia Control Lenses.

The optometrists and opticians are all qualified so you can rest assured.
“We want our clients to see clearly, look good and make a statement, every time they walk out in their eyewear. With such an exclusive lineup of eyewear collection from the most promising designers worldwide, I’m sure our customers would have no problems picking up a piece that can best reflect their personality and personal style.” said Mr. Kevin Siew, Managing Director of Eyez Optometry, at the exclusive Eyewear Showcase held at Bangsar Village II Shopping Centre.

After the speech and fashion show, my hands got itchy and started trying out most of the sun glasses available in the store.

“We are confident that everyone will love the frames that we have to offer. So much so that we have an exchange policy should anyone be unsatisfied with what they have picked out within a specific time frame.”

Haha! So happen Lina and I tried the same sun glasses at the same time.

Any event that serves wine is a good event. :p

If you are thinking of changing your eye wear or maybe you need to get one for vision purpose, do head over to their outlets and check them out.

  3. The above collection is very nice and in my opinion designer aviator eyewear will better suit on your face. Because your face shape is oval and oval face shape people love aviator and wayfarer sunglasses.
